Destination: U.S. Virgin Islands

The United States Virgin Islands is a group of islands in the Caribbean located 40 miles east of Puerto Rico.  The U.S. Virgin Islands consist of the main islands of Saint CroixSaint John, and Saint Thomas.  The islands has attracted over 25 million visitors since 2013.  So, who doesn't love a tropical getaway?



It is known for white-sand beaches, reefs and verdant hills.  St. Thomas island is home to the capital, Charlotte Amalie. To the east is the island of St. John, St. Croix island and its historic towns, Christiansted and Frederiksted, are to the south.  The islands’ biggest yearly events are the colourful Carnival celebrations, which are spread throughout the year, with St. Croix’s Crucian Christmas Carnival in Dec/Jan, St. Thomas Carnival in Apr/May and the St. John Festival in Jun/Jul.

In St. Thomas, Charlotte Amalie features a cruise-ship harbor, the Skyride aerial tram and Blackbeard’s Castle, a 17th-century watchtower. On the northern coast is Magens Bay, a popular beach and a seaside golf course, Mahogany Run.  St. John has forests plus an underwater nature trail at Trunk Bay. St. Croix features18th-century Danish buildings, former sugar plantations and Salt River’s bioluminescent bay. There are many attractions including wall diving in Cane Bay and snorkeling at Buck Island Reef.



 Peak travel season runs Dec–Mar, with hot daytime temperatures and breezy evenings.

Apr–Aug is balmy and generally dry and Aug–Nov is rainy/hurricane season.
